Andrej pointed out the extended producer responsibility system, which places producers in a position where they must take responsibility for their products from the beginning of production to the end of the product’s life cycle. He also suggested that municipalities collaborate with companies committed to non-financial reporting on environmental, social, and governance responsibility (ESG), which will encourage producers to adopt sustainable resource management practices and reduce waste that ends up in the environment.
Andrej also discussed the Regulation on the Reduction of the Impact of Certain Plastic Products on the Environment (SUP), which aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic products. Municipalities can reduce waste in the environment by implementing this regulation.
Collaboration with large companies committed to non-financial reporting is crucial for an effective green transition in municipalities.
With his rich experience in environmental legislation, Andrej was invited to participate in the ZLATI KAMEN event as a lecturer.
